Another at-home family session in Wexford, PA, made a success with the Blose family. The boys had rooms that childhood dreams are made of, and having their portraits taken in those rooms made this session even more special.
Christy took me into each of their rooms and said 'I don't know if you'll want to photograph in here because their rooms are themed' to which I responded 'that makes taking their photos in these rooms even more important because one day they'll be all grown up and you'll want to remember this time.'

This session started with Christy getting her hair and makeup done by a very talented HMUA Angie. I offer mamas the chance to add on hair and makeup with their session because I want my moms to feel relaxed, pampered, and ready for their family photos. Mamas often put themselves last, and for family portraits, they should be putting their needs first. While Christy was getting some much needed time alone, DJ stayed downstairs to hang with the boys.

It was a hot and muggy day in the city, so we spent most of our time inside for their session. We started on their beautiful staircase central to their home and worked our way to the boys' bedrooms. Of course, when you get older, maintaining your cool status is a must, but with Mom reading corny jokes and Dad making funny faces, you are bound to laugh.

Family sessions are meant to be fun, and sometimes you have to work together as a team to get those beautiful laughs and smiles. So here's my tip for families who need to get those kiddos laughing come prepped with those famous mom & dad jokes. Be ready to make silly faces, dance funky and if worse comes to worse resort to
