At an early age, I discovered I could draw when I sat down and drew Pebbles from the Flintstones. I quickly realized that with patience and practice I could recreate most pictures I looked at.
My love for drawing led to a deeper love for all things art. Throughout high school and college, I was a part of all art related activities. You name it, I was probably in it.
It was in college that I had my first encounter with photography. In an effort to save money for my grams, I decided I would take my brother and sister's senior portraits. It’s a little laughable to see the quality of these photos now but we all start somewhere.
My junior year of college I took my first photography course in black and white film photography and I was eternally hooked! I would spend countless HOURS working in the darkroom developing film and photographs. (See my two favorite pieces below.)

That same year I went to the Pittsburgh Carnegie Museum of Art and it was an amazing experience. I specifically remember two pieces that had me gripped for minutes on end. The first work of art was a film on a loop with a man staring at the camera. The other artwork was an abstract Holocaust memorial painting, three times my size. Each artwork was dramatically different but similar in experience. While viewing the art I felt beyond myself, I experienced a deep sense of connection to each artist. It is this sense of connection to something greater than myself that led to my love for photography.
I photograph my clients in a way that captures their innate love, warmth, and connection. So that, their family photos help their children and grandchildren connect to the past in a deeper more meaningful way.
Sending you all the light & Love, LeeAnn
