Personal Brand Shoot for
Pittsburgh Hand-dyed Sprinkles

I met Surrae and Rachel in the Spring of 2021 at a time when the world needed some serious joy. As you can probably imagine the thought of photographing a queer business couple whose whole business is hand-dyed sprinkles is in fact quite joyous. You can read about their origin story here.

 

Each season Riverroad launches a new line of beautiful hand-dyed sprinkles that are an absolute dream for kiddos and baking aficionados. With playful names like King Cake Glimmer and Glitter Smittens the playful energy of their brand is undeniable. But while they love the bright colors and playfulness they also wanted to maintain a down-to-earth feel reminiscent of days Surrae spent with her Gram baking in their kitchen on Riverroad.

With the desire to maintain both a playful and a down-to-earth feel, we incorporate natural elements to balance out the bright colors of their mixes. And after nearly two years of branding shoots, we’ve landed on a sweet spot that feels just right!

Just like every business owner each year I take courses and work with coaches in order to hone my craft and stay current with current marketing trends. As video becomes more and more important in social media and marketing I wanted to expand what I offer my clients without major additional costs to their sessions.
